Gora is proud to celebrate its 2nd anniversary as the leading oracle in Algorand. Over the past two years, Gora has made significant progress in building a decentralized oracle network that provides secure and reliable data feeds to smart contracts on Algorand. From its beginning as a hackathon winner to becoming the leading oracle on the Algorand blockchain, let's take a walk down memory lane and explore what's in store for the next chapter of Gora's incredible story.
Milestones
Gora was founded in 2021 by a team of experienced blockchain developers. Since then has achieved significant milestones, securing the prestigious first-place position in Encode’s Algorand Hackathon in October 2021, and receiving the esteemed first oracle Supagrant from the Algorand Foundation in December 2021.
The team was motivated to build a decentralized oracle network because they believed that it was essential for the growth and adoption of decentralized applications (dApps).
Gora has achieved a number of milestones over the past two years, including:
- Launching the Gora mainnet in June 2023
- Securing partnerships with leading Algorand projects, such as Pera Wallet, Tinyman
- Attracting well established data providers to the Gora network and to Algorand
- Becoming the referenced oracle and one of the leading projects on Algorand
Launch of the Gora Token
In June 2023, Gora launched the $GORA token. The $GORA token is used to govern the Gora network and to reward users for participating in the ecosystem.
The $GORA token launch was a major milestone for Gora. It allowed the team to raise funds to support the development of the project and to create a community of stakeholders who are invested in the success of Gora solution.
The Gora Hackathon
In August 2023, Gora hosted its first hackathon. The hackathon was a great success, with over 100 participants from around the world. The winners of the hackathon developed a number of innovative applications that use Gora data feeds.
Future Plans
Gora has a number of ambitious plans for the future. The team is working on expanding the network to support more blockchains and to provide a wider range of data feeds. The team is also working on developing new oracle services, such as a prediction market and play a key role in leading digital transformation for organizations.
